ARTIST STATMENT
My current series explores the themes of birth, death and regeneration as well as spirituality. The segmented vessels are organic forms that are derived from nature and flourish with both fantastic color and movement, emptying and re-filling, and sometimes exploding from over-consumption. Working with oil on paper, using a subtractive approach, twisting the painting for multi-directional drips, and incorporating printmaking techniques such as “select-wiping,” help me to produce these strange and alluring worlds.
