ARTIST STATEMENT
Like many other artists for whom the human figure offers myriad aesthetic and emotional possibilities, I focus on the face, creating collages, masks, and portraits. I attempt to capture my own subjects in moments of vulnerability, using paint, scraps of paper, fabric, and plastic to express a jolting, uncertain movement between power and its loss.
