ARTIST STATEMENT
The majority of my current artworks are made from wood, plexi glass, and discarded materials. My work investigates themes of domestic roles, time, and motherhood. In my most recent artworks, I am using materials that often are discarded or go unnoticed. I find that items such as laundry lint or hair can be quite beautiful and are easily overlooked. I am fascinated with relationships between individuals and the energy created by two people or things. I want to increase the connection between the viewer and my artwork, which is why I often encourage viewers to touch or pickup parts of my sculptures.
