ARTIST STATEMENT
My current work deals with human denial and self-destruction. I locate the mundane alongside the fantastic to expose our collective cognitive dissonance about the way we live and the reality of dwindling resources on the planet. I am interested in exploring the paradox between our everyday activities, which provide us consistency and sanity, and global instability through unsustainable development. I attempt this by challenging the boundaries of what we expect and what we understand about humans in the natural environment. Just as the visuals can be unbelievable to our eyes, so can the possibility of human extinction to our minds.
