ARTIST STATEMENT

I am interested in choice vs. process, ambiguity vs. representation. My abstract painting and drawings incorporate both painting and drawing, one generating the other. I use the process of pouring paint to create accident and chance and drawing to bring a skewed sense of order to my work. I reference both the chaos and order that exist within nature and society.
