ARTIST STATEMENT

My work is inspired by daily observation of nature and my personal experiences. By stylizing these natural forms and manipulating line and color, I create visual metaphors that reflect my personal states and resonate with the viewer. I like to use media that emphasize the drawing, such as graphite, pen and ink, etching and lithography. I tint my drawings with watercolor or acrylic washes to help enhance a particular atmosphere or mood without overpowering the linework
